Polite reminder

You are welcome to bring drinking water in a secure container into the Library to drink while you’re working (and fill up from the tap in any of the bathrooms in the Department), but please don’t bring in other drinks or any food.

We need to keep our unique collections and heritage environment free from sticky liquids and fingers for many more years to come.

If you’re feeling hungry or thirsty you probably need a break.

Go outside for a picnic and some fresh air, or visit one of the many cafes nearby and come back refreshed and ready to work smarter.

Opening hours

The Whipple Library is currently closed to all readers, whilst staff work towards safely reopening the library's physical spaces and services. However, many library services are available online. Please check the University Libraries FAQs, or contact the library via email:
