A new book display in the Whipple featuring women science writers

Our new book display on Level 1, 'Writing Science: Interpreters, Educators, Scholars', was inspired by our acquisition earlier this year of Grace Chisholm Young's heavily annotated copy of the book she co-authored with her husband, mathematician W.H. Young, The Theory of Sets of Points (CUP 1906). The display features material on a wide range of topics by women who were scholars, educators and interpreters of scientific information from the mid 18th to the early 20th centuries, all prepared by Library Assistant Clare Matthews. The display is available during normal Library opening hours (Monday-Friday 9.15-7pm).
