Whipple Library

Department of History and Philosophy of Science

The history of medicine is a record not only of scientific progress but also of the changing ways in which people have sought to understand, describe, and preserve health. The Whipple Library holds a significant collection of medical texts spanning centuries. This exhibition brings together a selection of these works, ranging from the sixteenth century to the twentieth, to illustrate how medical knowledge was transmitted, debated, and transformed across time.
