Quain’s Anatomy was first published with the fuller title Elements of descriptive and practical anatomy for the use of students in 1828. The copy here is the seventh edition published two years after Quains death. Figure 418 demonstrates one of the many comprehensive illustrations these volumes contained, each volume boasting over two hundred engravings on wood.
