The postcards scattered about the display were produced by the British Museum in the 1920-30’s. The collection we have mainly covers birds but also features cards about bird’s eggs, trees, spiders and fruits and seeds. Some of the postcards are by known artists. The Flamingo, on the Rennie and Soner page, is from an original drawing by J.C. Dollman (1851–1934) who was a member of the Royal Watercolour Society. Others were drawn by Henrik Grönvold (1858-1940) who is a more known bird illustrator. Not all of them are in full colour, some are in monochrome and some are photographs of what looks like stuffed birds.
